Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest healing practices in the world. It is one of the key aspects of traditional Chinese medicine and aims to restore and maintain health through the stimulation of specific acupuncture points of the body. Fine sterile needles are inserted into points in order to influence physiological functioning.

Although acupuncture can be used for a large number of conditions our clinic tends to have good results in the treatment of the following conditions:

*

Pain - arthritic complaints including hand, knee, back, neck and shoulder disorders. Often lasting relief is obtained for these complaints

Headaches - for the prevention and relief of this disabling problem

Sports injuries

Anxiety and nervous disorders

Sinus pain

Gynecological and obstetric disorders including PMT, hormonal and menopausal disorders.

Each treatment lasts around 15 minutes and attracts a Medicare rebate.

Weekly treatments (5-10) are given for chronic complaints and more frequently if the condition is acute.

For more information see the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association website.
